It was a great day of racing this past Jan. 30, 2015 at the DMX 5th round. KTM riders were on the podium in all classes and Jake Shipton was on the top step in both MX1 and MX2.
Jake Shipton rode fast and consistently and took home the win in MX1 and MX2, in all 4 motos. Riding in MX2 for the first time this season, Jake showed everyone that his talents aren’t limited to the big bore bike. His starts were so good that he got the holeshot in all his races and never lost the lead. Masterfully, Shipton rode both the 2015 KTM 450 SX-F and 2015 KTM 250 SX-F and won by a large margin each time (over 30 seconds). Smooth and fast, Jake was in a class of his own. He leads the MX1 class in the championship.
Nic Kefford, KTM-UAE Racing Team young gun, managed to finish 2nd in the 85cc class aboard his 2015 KTM 85 SX and 3rd in the 125cc class on his 2015 KTM 125 SX. His fast and aggressive riding style had him fighting for the top position in each race and gave the spectators a great show. Nic is still in contention for the 85cc class championship with only 9 points separating him from the leader.
In the Clubman Class, Clinton Wyngard finished 2nd. Riding his KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition, Clinton was truly competitive in his races. He may not have won this round but he still leads the championship standings by large margin.
KTM riders in all classes found their way on to the podium. From the Juniors to the Masters, there an orange rider somewhere on the top three steps!
It was a great day of racing and everyone took it home safely with no big incidents during the day.
