Race Wins and Podiums at Every Race

Mohammed Balooshi has been shining at the desert races and maintains his narrow overall points lead over team mate, Mohammed Jaffar, with just 3 points separating them. In motocross, the veteran champion has posted top ten finishes in the first 3 rounds of racing.

#7 Balooshi

Kuwaiti rider, Mohammed Jaffar, has been nipping at the heels of his mentor, Balooshi. Going in to the 3rd round of the Emirates Desert Championship, Jaffar was just one point behind the points leader! Fit and obviously prepared for battle, Jaffar looks to be ready for a strong finish this season. In motocross, Mohammed (Jaffar) has been able to finish on the podium consistently in MX2 and currently sits in 3rd at DMX and even won an MX event in Qatar.

Sam Sunderland- #83

Red Bull KTM Factory Rally rider, Sam Sunderland, looked to have a great season start during the 2nd round of the Emirates Desert Championship. He and Jake (Shipton) were going at it from the green flag till the very last lap until Sunderland had picked an unfortunate line approaching a massive jump and couldn’t end the race after a more dramatic looking crash as it actually was..

Sam’s priority is obviously the World Cross-Country Rally Championship and his commitment to the Red Bull KTM Factory Rally Team. Focusing on Dakar and the development of his career on the Team, the local racing community and events still offer a very attractive environment for Sam to constantly work on his skill and tactics. Just a couple of weeks prior to the mother of all Rallies going down in South America, all our support and attention go to Sam to stand strong for him as a team and back-up from his Dubai base. Good luck mate !!

Jake Shipton- #731

Jake Shipton, British motocrosser and KTM_UAE Racing Team rider, has been at the top of the podiums in both Motocross and Baja race events since the start of the season. After 3 rounds of racing, Shipton has so far won 3 consecutive MX1 rounds at the DMX (Dubai Motocross) Championships and back to back overall wins at the Emirates Desert Championship. Jake leads the MX1 category with a 32 points lead over Ben Menzies. But on top of that, Jake contributes huge value to the KTM_UAE Racing Team and the local racing scene in general, by being a great team player, a challenger and representative for our sport !

In the Baja races, after a DNF in the first round due to a punctured rear tire, Jake has put himself back in contention with his two back to back wins and currently leads the overall points championship.

Clinton Wyngard-- Chillin'

Clinton Wyngard leads the Clubman Class at the DMX Championship. With 2 wins and 2nd place finish, Clinton is poised for the championship win! His smooth and steady riding style reflects his personality– easy going– and lends well to his performance on track.

Steve Blackney-- KTM RC8 R

Steve Blackney started the UAE Superbike Championship on a good note with a 3rd overall finish at the first round, held at the Dubai Autodrome. Blackney rode his KTM RC8 R for all it’s worth and surprised a lot of people with his impressive results! Steve has always enjoyed the handling and torque of the KTM Superbike and he is now a contender in the series with it.

It has been a great season so far and the KTM_UAE Racing Team is doing very well. The podiums in the Middle East have been very orange so far and it looks like this trend will continue throughout the season.
