Mohamed Balooshi, official KTM UAE Racing rider and a role model in the Middle East, is excited to get back on his rally bike, a KTM 530 EXC (rally prepped), and participate in this prestigious event.
” I am very excited to be part of this event and look forward to the challenges ahead. This is also part of my preparation for the coming Dakar Rally. My goal is simply to finish and maintain my riding fitness, as well as get more mileage” shared Mohamed.
This event is a candidate for inclusion in the FIA World Championship Cross-Country Rallies for next year, the Qatar International Baja had a good run in the past but had to withdraw and make way for the Asian World Cup back in 2006. After a 5-year absence, the event is back on and is eyeing to regain its former glory.
Tim Trenker, Managing Partner of KTM Middle East and Team Director, won this event in 2004 when it was in its Prime with World Class participants and has fond memories there.
“It’s such a great event! We at KTM-UAE want to show our support to the QMMF and hope that we can help bring the event back up to the international showcase it once was,” said Tim. “I have fond memories at this event winning it in 2004 and think that this is a very good place for Mohamed Balooshi to train and prepare for the Dakar,” He continues.
KTM-UAE is also going to be supporting KTM riders from Qatar at the event. With the support of KTM Qatar (Al Fardan Motorcycles), KTM will be providing race support and service for the participants on KTM motorcycles.
” Together with our Qatar KTM Partner , Al Fardan this is part of our effort and commitment to our customers in Qatar,” says Trenker.
